VP of Creative Strategy & Business Development

The Vice President, Creative Strategy will provide creative oversight and direction to client teams, and support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, managing key client relationships, and driving organizational growth. This role requires an innovative creative strategist who can both direct and support the development of creative assets, and who will support our mission to support organizations who are changing the world through innovative approaches and excellence in client service.

Creative Strategy and Marketing

  • Oversee all aspects of strategic creative development in support of our fundraising philosophy.
  • Provide direct oversight and leadership to the creative team, ensuring alignment with overall agency and client goals.
  • Lead the development of innovative and impactful creative concepts to support multi-channel marketing strategies for the agency.
  • Ensure all creative and marketing efforts are cohesive, strategically sound, and effectively communicate our unique value proposition.

Team Member Management

  • Oversee budgeting, financial management, and review processes for the creative department, ensuring proper resource utilization and continued profitability.
  • Promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
  • Lead and manage the team to ensure high performance and effective collaboration.
  • Foster a positive work environment to support overall morale, staff retention, and commitment to the company’s vision.
  • Defines roles and responsibilities of team members and work teams.
  • Administers personnel actions and enforces personnel policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for assigned team members.
  • Identifies and facilitates training and professional development opportunities for team members to support skill development.

Client Management And Strategy

  • Act as Relationship Management Lead for a portfolio of progressive non-profit, advocacy or political clients, overseeing all aspects of the client relationship, supporting client retention and profitability.
  • Guide the development and execution of comprehensive direct response campaigns across multiple channels (digital, direct mail, etc.).
  • Develop annual budget projections and implementation roadmaps for clients.
  • Collaborate with decision science and strategy team to analyze data for program growth and productivity. Use analysis and reporting to measure success, identify challenges, and recommend course corrections.

New Business Development

  • Enhance brand visibility through strategic participation in industry events, thought leadership, and targeted branding initiatives.
  • Produce new client proposals and help lead strategic and creative pitches for new clients.
  • Represent the organization at industry events through attendance, presentations, and volunteer activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters Degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Public Policy/Administration, NonProfit Management, Political Science, Organization Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in non-profit or political direct marketing fundraising, with a proven ability to lead complex, multi-channel fundraising programs.
