Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Trilogy Health Services is looking for a Vice President of Clinical Operations. This role is a flexible, hybrid position and reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

What We're Looking For

The Vice President of Clinical Operations oversees the development, training, implementation and maintenance of system-wide clinical compliance programs, policies and procedures. The successful candidate promotes awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the mission, commitment and core values of the company and those required by federal and state law. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Oversees and supports the obligations of assigned divisions for clinical support.
  • Directs the recruitment and interview process to fill open campus Director of Health Services positions and Campus Support – Clinical Nurse positions.
  • Leads and provides support, resource knowledge and leadership for assigned Field Campus Support.
  • Leads and monitors performance and completes evaluations for Field Campus Support.
  • Partners with the SVP – Chief Nursing Officer and assigned Campus Support – Clinical Nurses to implement system-wide clinical programs, policies and procedures.
  • Organizes Clinical MIS systems to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations to promote efficient clinical practices.
  • Partners with clinical leaders in the development and implementation of written policies and procedures that set up standards for clinical practices and compliance; giving specific guidance to management, professional staff and individual departments as appropriate.
  • Oversees assigned clinical compliance audits at health care facilities to promote regulatory compliance.
  • Leads and assists in the development and implementation of survey plans of corrections as assigned.
  • Maintains awareness of laws and regulations, keeping abreast of current changes that may affect health care systems. Uses personal initiative, seminars, training programs, peer contact and various industry information sources. (e.g., internet sites, newsletters, etc.)
  • Leads and maintains a consistent management reporting process that provides the system with timely and relevant information on all aspects of project issues and needs.
  • Reviews reported issues, concerns or questions relative to clinical matters. Provides consultative leadership support to campuses and Support Nurses as appropriate. Includes close coordination with the SVP – Chief Nursing Officer and interaction with all levels of leadership throughout the system.
  • Works closely with Peer Review Teams and Support Nurses to ensure health care campuses achieve regulatory compliance.
  • Leads and maintains and adheres to policies and guidelines of resident confidentiality.
  • Maintains compliance with external regulatory agencies and organizations for all areas of responsibility.
  • Monitors the clinical reimbursement systems and provides feedback for improvement.
  • Extensive travel, including overnight stay, necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree in health care of related field preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in a senior living, long-term care or other health care industry, including experience with Medicare/Medicaid services.
  • 10 to 15 years’ in a leadership, management role.
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in a multi-facility environment.
  • Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Current unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of practice.
  • Experience working with federal and state regulations, facility policies, procedures and programs pertaining to long-term care industry and resident activities.
  • Experience with nursing and medical practices, principles and state survey process.
  • Experience in medical and legal issues in the health environment.
  • Experience working in reimbursement systems: federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to health documentation.
  • Experience in communication concepts, methods and techniques.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Advanced technical financial analysis and computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills.

Physical requirements

Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
