The Vice President of Acquisition will be the key driver in sourcing and securing high-potential real estate opportunities through extensive networking and face-to-face interactions. This role requires a dynamic professional with a strong presence in the real estate community, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with property owners, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
What you will do
- Develop and implement an acquisition strategy focused on networking and direct interactions with property sources.
- Actively identify and pursue real estate acquisition opportunities by attending industry events, conferences, and meetings with property owners and brokers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with property owners, real estate agents, developers, and other industry professionals.
- Lead face-to-face negotiations for property acquisitions, including price, terms, and conditions.
- Conduct site visits and property tours to assess potential acquisitions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, legal teams, and financial institutions, to facilitate the acquisition process.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of acquisition proposals to the CEO/CIO executive team .
- Manage and mentor a team of acquisition professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that could impact acquisition strategies.
- Monitor and report on the performance of acquired properties and ensure they meet expected returns.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, with a proven track record of successful transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of real estate markets, financial analysis, and investment strategies.
- Exceptional networking, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis software.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to engage with potential property sources.
