VP - Multifamily Acquisitions

Macdonald & Company is pleased to have been exclusively retained by one of their best clients to find and appoint a Director of VP of Acquisitions focused on multifamily deals across the US and based out of Dallas.
Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, negotiating financing and evaluating and closing assets, while working closely with the firm’s multifamily team.
Job Responsibilities:Source and evaluate acquisition opportunities consistent with general firm criteriaUnderwrite property cash flows, market rents, property operations, etc. with help of analyst teamDevelop strategies for potential acquisitions in collaboration with asset and portfolio managementPrepare investment memoranda and present to Investment CommitteeCoordinate property due diligence, including third party consultants, alongside asset managementAssist in structuring, negotiating, and closing investmentsExperience with sourcing and executing joint venturesPerform Excel based real estate cash flow modelingTravel required
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or similar7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably as a real estate investment manager in multifamily.The ideal candidate will have pre-existing relationships with real estate brokers and ownersDirect experience negotiating transaction documentsAdvanced knowledge of Excel and underwriting.Ability to multi-task, have an ownership mentality, work independently, and collaborate effectively with a team. In order to complement the company’s culture, the successful candidate must be very driven, entrepreneurial, hard-working and results orientedIndividual must have outstanding interpersonal skills, as well as strong presentation and communication ability, both oral and written.
