Responsibilities
About the role:
GM Financial is targeting significant growth as it transforms the Protection/Insurance Products into a full captive platform. Our team is responsible for bringing the branded General Motors F&I products to market and we work hands on with our dealer partners to improve performance in their F&I department. This role will lead cross functional product teams performing analysis, design, development, automation and production support for GMF's North America GM Protection technology platform. The VP IT Delivery - GM Protection has overall responsibility for the establishment and execution of a strategic plan for the development, delivery and maintenance of software solutions to meet GM Financial business partner's strategic objectives. The role should align to business leaders, in their area of responsibility, and must be able to recognize, develop and evolve business and IT processes, technology and people. This role will be responsible for interacting directly with all levels of the organization ensuring that technology solutions are clearly identified, objectives are defined and results are achieved that provide a competitive advantage.
In This Role, You Will
Retain and attract technology talent and foster engineering culture to exceptional GM Protection experience for GMF clients
Oversee the system architecture, implementation, and sustain activities for the GM Protection technology platform to support the business operating model including enrollment, onboarding, point of sale, contract originations, servicing and data management
Oversee third party technology vendors ensuring they maintain adequate processes, controls, and security infrastructure
As needed, collaborate with business partners on forecasting, developing businesses cases, prioritizing opportunities, evaluation of approaches and other product management like activities
A change agent who can influence various stakeholders in business and technology domains to improve customers, dealers and GMF associates experience
Direct and oversee agile teams to gather project requirements, resolve production issues and maintain business information systems
Develop processes, controls, and operational budget for department
Establish and maintain development and testing standards and control measures for developed software and systems
Establish, manage, and report upon application and team performance and key quality metrics
Coach, mentor and develop employees to strengthen skill sets, foster high performance and support further career growth
Work with IT and business management in developing business strategy and technology roadmap to include tools, processes, standards and methods, leveraging industry standards and best practices
Assist in the overall leadership and implementation of emerging technologies and best practices
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
Advanced knowledge of large-scale information systems, application development technologies, architecture and tools
Working knowledge of DevSecOps concepts, including continuous integration, continuous testing and continuous delivery
Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies
Knowledge of Warranty, Service Contract, or Insurance administration technology platforms preferred
Knowledge of Auto Finance and lending business functions, policies, and procedures
Knowledge of security frameworks, methodologies, policies, standards, and best practices
Extensive experience supporting large and complex business operations environment

Prior software process experience highly desirable including waterfall, RUP, XP, etc and transformation from those methodologies into Agile
Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP-based web services
Experience in budgeting, planning, personnel development and business tools required
Experience in implementing Cloud native solutions preferred
Experience managing 30+ person team
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent experience required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Greater than 10 years progressively responsible experience within information technology required
Greater than 7 years of leadership experience required
