You actually see them all the time.

But don’t worry, you’re not alone.

A “PTAC,” or Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner, is the in-wall AC unit you most commonly see below the window in your hotel room. At RoomOne Solutions, we sell new and refurbished PTACs; manage the removal and installation of PTACs in the field; and refurbish used PTAC units to extend their useful life.

Our core customer market is hoteliers – ranging from the world’s largest brands to independent “mom and pop” small-business owners. Additionally, we also support customers in managed care, multi-family housing, dormitories, and residential.

The thing that makes us a little different is that we spend a lot of our time focused on refurbished PTACs. We obtain used PTACs from the field, refurbish them using Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes, and then sell them via online, call center, and enterprise channels. We do this at scale, with the mission of providing the lowest cost of conditioned air to the PTAC market.

We are recruiting a VP Growth Marketing & Ecommerce to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the President, this role will lead the growth of our refurbished PTAC sales. In short, the primary goal is to maximize contribution profits from refurbished PTAC sales, and in the process, deliver unmatched value to our customers.

To accomplish this goal, you will need to execute the following objectives:

  • Create Demand: Evangelize the value of refurbished PTACs to customers across the country via various marketing channels, including: field marketing, excellent content (E-E-A-T!), outbound outreach, print media, email marketing, conference attendance, sponsorships, and whatever else you have reason to believe will move the needle
  • Capture Demand: Capture the market demand and convert it into loyal customers via digital marketing (organic, paid, social), customer sales and support, website UI/UX improvements, functionality, design, brand, merchandising, and ultimately conversion rate optimization
  • Optimize Pricing: Study supply/demand curves, split testing, pricing elasticity, rates of resupply, and breakeven models to dynamically optimize pricing
  • Manage E-Commerce Operations: Maintain and improve our technology, vendor, and talent stack in furtherance of a great customer experience from first touch, to order fulfillment, to post-sale customer service

In order to execute these objectives, you will need to embody the following behaviors:

We’re hesitant to list a bunch of required qualifications, because this is a unique, generalist leadership position which doesn’t fit neatly in a preexisting box. In this role, we need someone who is capable of creating a blue ocean which hasn’t been crossed before.
