Job Overview

The Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) is responsible for overseeing the execution of merchandise strategy, selection and procurement for a particular segment of business to create a distinguished Bloomingdale's assortment. Along with the General Merchandise Manager (GMM), they are accountable for sales, gross margin, turn, customer satisfaction and digital experience. The DMM must lead an engaged workforce by simplifying work, driving standardization and ensuring empowerment of employees.

Essential Functions

  • Set vision for business, lead buyers to develop assortments that support the needs of the customer and the financial objectives of the merchandise division. Present the monthly forecast to the Chairman
  • Collaborate internally and externally to develop assortment plans and strategies as it relates to instore and online execution of marketing campaigns/materials
  • Leverage strong vendor partnerships to negotiate funding to ensure pricing and promotional strategies support the financial objectives of the Bloomingdale’s
  • Collaborate with the planning organization to develop by-store assortment plans that support overall strategy

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
  • Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
