North American Bancard is seeking a VP of Cyber & Fraud Risk to join its Enterprise Risk Management leadership team to continue to build out risk management capabilities focused on emerging threats to payments that emanate from the cyber ecosystem.

Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this role is an integral member of the leadership team that will collaborate across the organization with critical stakeholders to ensure that the Enterprise Risk Management group stays ahead of the most active threats facing the payments industry today. This role will also be integral in working with global teams responsible for building the next generation of Enterprise Risk Management products.

What you'll do:

  • Identify potential cyber risks, assess and apply techniques to quantify their impact, and create mitigation plans.
  • Lead the identification of cybersecurity and technology risks related to the systems and information through data driven analysis and the development of analytical tools and models to mitigate this behavior.
  • Perform deep-dive threat assessments of entities, products and services to identify emerging risks, quantify cyber risks impact, and facilitate management, oversight and reporting of cyber risk and provide guidance to mitigate potential technical risks.
  • Oversee the development of strategic and tactical PIRs and work with existing team members to ensure industry coverage based on prioritization of these PIRs.
  • Lead strategic initiatives through engineering automation of process, analytics and reporting in the cyber and payments risk ecosystem.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in cybersecurity and technology to support overall risk management across the broader NAB ecosystem by working closely with cybersecurity and technology personnel.
  • Coordinate with colleagues, partners, agents and merchants in discussing the impact of technology and cybersecurity risks on business and support the mitigation of threats.
  • Keep abreast of advances in industry to address the threat landscape.
  • Provide guidance on the evolving technology and cybersecurity risk landscape to include the impact of emerging threats in the cybersecurity and payments world to the overall NAB Holdings group. This includes the emergence of new technologies that could be leveraged to defeat existing controls.
  • Gather and synthesize abstract and complex details/concepts/data into discrete and actionable insights that includes the development of tools, models or strategic analytical products.
  • Collaborate on the development of detailed business and functional requirement documents and specifications to ensure that new tools and product offerings address the emerging threat landscape for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and execute high-impact cyber risk initiatives that provide increased value to organizations such as the implementation of new monitoring technologies.
  • Drive innovation in NAB’s Enterprise Risk Management product offerings by collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new capabilities and services to market.
  • Be a key resource to work with large partners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the threats to the overall payments threat landscape including manners in which to protect and remediate fraud and risk issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business partners to lead and promote efforts to address any process and control gaps.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years experience in financial services, cyber crime, risk management, payments, fraud and/or intelligence 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Military, Intelligence or law enforcement experience in an analytical or operational collections related role.
  • Previous experience engaging with industry partners and threat intelligence vendors focused on cyber crime, cyber threats and payments fraud.

  • Proficient at problem solving as well as proactively recommending and implementing improvements or solutions.
  • Data-driven and curious, interested in discovering root causes, creating and comparing potential solutions, iterating on ideas, and ensuring data insights turn into operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of cyber threat investigations and investigative techniques using a variety of source material to include proprietary data, internal data sources and open source information.
  • Able to communicate complex information both verbally and in writing, effectively with audiences at every level, including executive leadership team, partners, and individual contributors.
  • Ability to multitask, follow up on tasks, prioritize work projects, and meet exacting deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently without supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and analyze data to detect suspicious behavior.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective organizational, time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and demonstrate flexibility in a continually changing environment, and navigate and collaborate across complex organizations and partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining effective working relationships with customers, vendors, employees and management with a focus on responsiveness and follow-through.
