Job Summary: The Vice President, Business Development and Regulatory Affairs, will lead strategic initiatives to expand our business and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in support of our nuclear fission technology and projects. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in business development, regulatory affairs, and the energy sector. The ideal candidate will dedicate approximately 60% of their focus to licensing, with the remaining time allocated to other critical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Lead the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth in the nuclear fission technology sector.
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, potential partners, and clients.
Lead negotiations and finalize deals with partners, clients, and government entities.
Oversee market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning.
Regulatory Affairs:
Develop and execute comprehensive regulatory strategies to support the company’s nuclear technology and project initiatives.
Monitor and analyze regulatory developments impacting the nuclear energy industry.
Engage with regulatory bodies, agencies, and policymakers to ensure compliance and advocate for the company’s interests.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and public forums to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Prepare and present regulatory briefs, position papers, and comments to advance the company’s objectives.
Leadership and Management:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business development and regulatory affairs objectives.
Collaborate with senior leadership, including the President, to develop and implement company-wide strategies and initiatives.
Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing, results-oriented organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, regulatory affairs, or a related role within the energy sector, preferably with a focus on nuclear technology.
Proven track record of successful business development and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Strong understanding of regulatory processes related to the energy industry.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory officials, industry leaders, and potential partners.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive plans to achieve business objectives.
