VP, Aircraft Trading

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the Aircraft Trading (‘AT’) function within the assigned region and manage junior AT personnel as required. Support the Head of Aircraft Trading in the development and tactical implementation of all aircraft trading strategic initiatives for ACG. Provide cross-functional support for the ACG Marketing, Technical, and Finance departments in their strategic initiatives, and provide cross-functional leadership in developing, structuring, and closing new investment opportunities generated by ACGs AT group and divesting aircraft from ACGs investment portfolio within the assigned lessor region.

HIRING RANGE

$ 190,000.00 – 225,000.00

Bonus eligible position

Individual pay may vary from the target hiring range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

•                    Senior AT representative and primary commercial focal point for the aviation trading market within the assigned region

•                    Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, via phone, writing and in person

•                    Ensure all potential trading activities which take place within the assigned territory is known and considered by the Company

•                    Support the Head of Aircraft Trading in the development of origination and divestment strategies for the AT department in line with ACGs company-wide portfolio initiatives

•                    Liaise with the Marketing department to ensure that underwriting standards for future aircraft placements and acquisitions are optimized to ensure future deal liquidity and value-add for each deal

KEY DIMENSIONS

•                    Leadership, and effective and collaborative working in-line with Company core values, to support ACGs long-term business goals and objectives

•                    Effective communication of vision and purpose to promote ATs strategic goals within ACG, and ACGs broader strategic goals within the marketplace

•                    Representation of ACG in among market peers; Lead relationship development and deal origination within the assigned region, and support the AT team in the broader global market

•                    Support the Head of Aircraft Trading to achieve trading business development and profit targets as set forth at the beginning of each year

•                    Work closely with the Head of Aircraft Trading to develop and implement ACGs trading strategy

•                    Initiate and develop new, value enhancing Strategic initiatives and manage to completion, in close consultation with the Head of Aircraft Trading

•                    Customer focused, able to operate at any level

•                    Self-motivated, team player with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

KEY RELATIONSHIPS & LEADERSHIP

•                    Head of Aircraft Trading (direct manager)

•                    Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Leadership Team

•                    Trading team 

•                    Manage and work closely with cross-departmental deal teams

QUALIFICATIONS

•                    Minimum 10 years’ experience within the aircraft leasing industry

•                    Accredited degree qualifications in marketing, sales, engineering, economics, commerce, or finance

•                    Experience with negotiation of sale and purchase agreement, novation agreements and operating lease contracts

•                    Proven track record of successful sales and trading of commercial aircraft

•                    A large network of lessor, banking, airline, and legal contacts

•                    Demonstrated experience in leading deal teams and coordination of cross-departmental roles

•                    Excellent presentation skills and ability to articulate and communicate (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization

•                    Ability to create and run financial models in order to support viewpoints on deal economics and value

•                    Flexible and adaptable; ability to travel on short notice as needed

•                    Expert proficiency in MS Office

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•                    Office controlled environment

•                    Ability to use computer and software programs on a daily basis

ENVIRONMENT

•                    Frequent business travel required (35%)

•                    Indoor working environment with majority of the day (90%) spent sitting or standing at desk or in meetings, whilst the remaining (10%) of the time spent walking to other floors/offices as needed

•                    Relatively frequent external meetings in city (average 1-2 per week), requiring movement between ACG Ireland office and other lessor offices or meeting points.
