Mission and Overview:

The Global Public Health Credentialing Board Inc. (GPHCB) is dedicated to establishing and elevating the standards of excellence within the field of public health through comprehensive credentialing and recognition. Our mission is to ensure that public health professionals possess recognized expertise, fostering positive changes in public health at both regional and global levels.


Role Overview:

As a Volunteer Advisory Board Member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the GPHCB, providing feedback, insights, and support to the GPHCB “Content Review Board”. Your experience and expertise in the field of public health will contribute to maintaining and enhancing standards and best practices for 21st-century public health.


Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Direction: Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategies that align with GPHCB's mission and vision. Your insights will ensure that our credentialing processes remain at the forefront of public health standards.
  2. Content Development: Review and provide input on examination content to guarantee that it accurately represents the depth and breadth of public health concepts. Your expertise will help maintain the relevance and rigor of our credentialing assessments.
  3. Quality Assurance: Participate in the review and validation of assessment processes to uphold the integrity of our examinations. Your meticulous evaluation will contribute to the reliability and validity of our credentialing procedures.
  4. Global Reach: Collaborate with fellow Advisory Board Members to expand the impact and reach of GPHCB on both regional and global scales. Your contributions will enable us to influence public health professionals worldwide.
  5. Advocacy: Promote the value of GPHCB credentials within the public health community and beyond. Your advocacy will encourage professionals to seek recognition through GPHCB and contribute to the growth of our organization.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of public health. Members of advisory boards should have advanced degrees in relevant fields such as public health, epidemiology, health policy, or related disciplines. They should possess in-depth knowledge of public health principles and practices.
  • Extensive professional experience in public health is crucial. This may include leadership roles in public health organizations, government agencies, research institutions, or academic institutions. Advisory board members should have a track record of making significant contributions to the field through leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making.
  • Given the importance of diversity and equity in public health, members should have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare and public health policies.
  • Public health is a rapidly evolving field, so members should be open to innovation and adaptable to emerging challenges, such as those posed by new diseases or changing environmental factors.Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for advancing the standards of excellence within the field of public health.


Commitment:

  • The role of an Advisory Board Member requires a commitment of 2 years.
  • Advisory Board Members are expected to attend quarterly meetings to provide feedback, insights, and guidance. (Only four (4) meetings per year).
