Primary Function: Responsible for the day-to-day vocational training, counseling, and case management of members in the Vocational Department.
Essential Functions
Oversee a caseload of up to 35 members.
Evaluate the skills of members and assess their ability to work.
Develop vocationally based treatment plans for members.
Implement individualized behavior modification strategies to assist in improving member's adaptive behavior, social and vocational skills. Train all related staff in these strategies.
Plan and conduct individual and group counseling sessions; conduct vocational training group sessions in prevocational areas.
Develop workforce exploration activities to improve members' awareness of vocational opportunities.
Observe members actively during vocational training and/or work opportunities to assess skills, provide recommendations for interventions to rehabilitation aids, and perform reassessments.
Complete various administrative duties (i.e. progress reports, daily attendance, case notes, overall file management) within required timeframes.
Ensure EHR files are always up to date with all required components.
Ensure all required reporting is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Support, train, and oversee undergraduate interns as required.
Requirements
BA in Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related field.
Prior experience in vocational counseling with individuals with disabilities preferred.
