Department Summary
The Department of English strives to promote a greater understanding of literature and culture; to add to literary tradition by fostering new works of poetry, fiction and nonfiction; to innovate in writing instruction; and to investigate the history of persuasive writing.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
This one-year position is full-time, comes with a competitive salary, and includes benefits.
Responsibilities for the position include teaching four courses each semester and providing service to the department.
Minimum Qualifications
MFA or PhD in English, Composition Studies, or related field. Demonstrated excellence in first-year writing instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD or MFA in English or related field.
Experience or expertise with developmental writing.
Experience or expertise with online teaching.
