Job Summary/Basic Functions
The College of Business at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a visiting faculty position at the rank of Lecturer for Academic Year 2024-2025. Applicants should hold a masters degree, MBA or a related field, from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2024.
The position serves business majors. It requires experience in business information systems, problem solving with Excel, and project management. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in a 5/5 annual teaching load and participate in service to the university, as necessary. In addition, membership and participation in state, regional, national, or international professional organizations is recommended.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Earned MBA or masters in related field from an accredited institution at time of appointment.
Experience: Knowledge of current practices in business information systems
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Analytic and problem-solving skills
Active and effective listening skills
Ability to collaborate with peers and students
Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity
Licensure & Certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of two (2) years experience teaching at the college or university level;
A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in one business information systems;
Evidence of potential ability in academic assignment and/or professional contributions and activities

Job Duties
- Maintain a 5/5 teaching load, teaching courses as assigned at the times and in the locations necessary to meet the needs of EKU students - (Essential)
- Utilize effective teaching methods, innovative teaching techniques, and teaching modalities, and multiple evaluation and assessment procedures as a means to help meet the needs of EKU students - (Essential)
- Demonstrate the ability to teach, develop, and implement courses related to one’s curricular area - (Essential)
- Keep up to date with one’s field and curricular areas by reading and reviewing current scholarly or creative works and by attending conferences, seminars, workshops, courses, and faculty development activities - (Essential)
- Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of EKU, its academic units, and its campus community - (Essential)
