Rooted in the region with a highly regarded undergraduate sport management program, the ideal candidate will shape and grow an immersive project-based learning experience that fuels enterprise-wide collaboration and co-constructive, high impact sport industry business knowledge and experience.
Toward this end, Pfeiffer University seeks applicants for an Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Management to support Pfeiffer’s mission and vision through excellence in teaching and advising/mentoring students in the Undergraduate Sport Management Program (Misenheimer, NC). The ideal candidate has a demonstrated commitment to student-centered education, scholarship, and active organizational and civic engagement. The successful candidate will teach 24-26 credit hours annually over a 10-month contract.
This is a 9-month position, beginning August 1, 2024.
Pfeiffer University is a private, Liberal Arts University, affiliated with the United Methodist Church, whose mission is to prepare servant leaders for life-long learning. The main campus is located in Misenheimer, approximately 40 miles northeast of Charlotte, NC, with an additional location in Albemarle. Ph.D. in Sport Management or related field from a regionally or nationally accredited university; sport-industry practitioner with operational knowledge and organizational experience; demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement project-based learning experiences;and previous collegiate teaching. Top candidates will have higher education administrative experience and an open-minded, innovative, growth mindset leadership style with a results-oriented focus.
