About The Opportunity
As a member of our team, you will:
Guide new and returning students and families through the onboarding process and ensure completion of necessary tasks.
Provide academic guidance, including transcript review and class selection support, to aid in career advising and grade level placement.
Collaborate with school administration to address barriers hindering student achievement in attendance, academics, and behavior.
Lead Advisory sessions and implement a Life Skills curriculum to foster student growth.
Track and report student data as directed.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to assess academic needs and develop remediation plans.
Support overage students in developing graduation plans and academic recovery strategies.
Equip students and parents with effective communication skills to achieve academic goals.
Conduct individual and group academic support sessions and provide resources to enhance student achievement.
Monitor student progress and hold regular check-ins to ensure academic, attendance, engagement, and behavioral goals are met.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to evaluate student progress and implement educational objectives.
Maintain effective communication with teaching staff regarding student performance and concerns.
Conduct parent and student conferences, and participate in student gatherings as needed.
Facilitate parent workshops and other activities to enhance service delivery.
Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and academic support needs.
About You
We are looking for candidates with:
A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Services, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in a high school educational setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
Strong interpersonal skills and a reliable work ethic.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
Customer service orientation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in a school setting and familiarity with educational support services preferred.
Willingness to travel occasionally for state testing and student events.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
