Virtual Health Science CTE Teacher -- Remote | WFH

We are seeking a highly qualified Virtual Health Science CTE Teacher dedicated to providing a superior education for all students in the 2024-2025 school year! We are looking for enthusiastic educators who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing online classroom environment that prioritizes student learning, life skills, career-based interventions, and career development. Our curriculum uses cutting-edge 21st-century techniques, accessible online and through various traditional methods.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor for Health Science Career Pathways for high school students.

Deliver content using technology and diverse teaching methods aligned with the school's curriculum and Career-Technical Education standards.

Plan and execute lesson plans that meet all necessary state standards.

Prepare students to earn industry-recognized credentials in the Health Science field.

Adapt and enrich the curriculum using multiple strategies and online tools to actively engage students for enrichment or remediation.

Align materials or create course content aligned with applicable end-of-course assessments.

Recruit and guide students through active chapters of CTSOs (Career and Technical Student Organizations), if applicable.

Motivate students to achieve their attendance, academic, and behavioral goals.

Maintain a positive school environment through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, and educational leadership.

Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

Maintain accurate records, including grade books, progress reports, lesson plans, attendance, and behavior/discipline records.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and administration.

Communicate effectively and regularly with all stakeholders.

Perform home visits as needed to support student engagement.

Administer standardized tests as required.

Recognize and utilize teachable moments.

Manage and submit student information and forms professionally and timely.

Develop classroom experiences that teach students to apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Use data and technology to create, manage, and assess engaging and relevant student learning experiences.

Maintain confidentiality of student information and professional matters.

Participate in ongoing professional development.

Work cooperatively to achieve responsibilities and goals.

Attend and participate in school activities such as faculty meetings, open houses, and commencement exercises.

Model tolerance, global awareness, reflective practice, and expected student behavior.

Assist in student recruitment and retention activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.

Current Health Science CTE teaching license, or ability to obtain a CTE supplemental license.

Ability to obtain licensure reciprocity in additional states if needed.

Strong knowledge of Health Science industry-recognized credentials.

Experience with research-based instructional practices and project-based learning.

Familiarity with the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.

Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting student data to make educational decisions.

Prior Online Teaching Experience Is Preferred.

Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, email, and internet applications.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Passion for teaching and genuine care for students.

Ability to manage confidential information.

Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines consistently.

Ability to work with a diverse student body and peer group.

Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
