Description
We’re seeking a creative and digitally savvy Video Production Intern to join the Media & Marketing team this summer. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing & Social Media Assistant Manager, Graphic Designer and Director to develop compelling content that demonstrates a strong understanding of current industry trends, with a focus on crafting engaging short-form video content that resonates with Japan Society’s audiences across various platforms. In addition you’ll work with footage from events and historical content to help build awareness, reach members and partners and promote ongoing campaigns.
Internship Dates And Commitment
Summer Semester 2024 (June-August) with the option to extend to the Fall
16-20 hours (2-2.5 days) per week
Responsibilities
Assist in the ideation, creation and scheduling of social media content across Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn and TikTok
Provide onsite coverage (photo and video) at high-profile events like the JAPAN CUTS film festival, exhibition openings, performances, tastings and other key programs
Edit video content as needed in Adobe Premiere to be distributed on various platforms
Collect and manage video files, storage and organization
Propose ideas around video series and related content structured around Media & Marketing goals and strategy.
Learning/Professional Opportunities
Hands-on experience in producing video content across numerous platforms for a non-profit, cultural institution
Experience and training in Adobe Software, with a focus on Adobe Premiere
Work closely with a dynamic 6-person Media & Marketing team and gain insights into the inner workings of creative marketing, design, PR and events programming at a nonprofit organization
Earn academic credit (if approved by your college/university)
Receive a recommendation letter from the supervising team member (upon request after successful completion of internship)
