Dilated Pixels is seeking a full-time onsite Video Editor.


You will work closely with our team of Producers and Directors to deliver high-end content to a diverse array of clientele. It is required that you can take your projects from start to finish. As important, qualified candidates must have a deep knowledge of storytelling (narrative and documentary styles) and be able to apply all these requirements across a broad spectrum of project and subject types. Additionally, those interested must have a strong technical background (data management/DAM), work well with others and be excited to collaborate, learn, and grow as an artist.


Mastery knowledge of Adobe Premiere is required. Expert knowledge of other Adobe products and motion graphics is highly preferred. Understanding of current post-production workflows, data management, multi-cam projects, file formats, frame rates, codecs, resolution, audio, metadata, and images for asset delivery. Knowledge of review and approval process using software such as Frame.io, Vimeo, and Hightail. Understanding of technical delivery process for bespoke package deliveries including metadata.


Dilated Pixels is a fast-paced environment with a close-knit team. Evening and weekend work may be required according to business needs occasionally.


This is a full-time in-office position in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties


  • Prepping, uploading, and downloading, source materials, and assets from various client Media Asset Management systems.


  • Preparing hard drives for shoots and QC'ing and offloading footage post-shoot.


  • Moving files around on our internal production network and keeping assets pristinely organized.


  • Setting up projects and prepping projects for delivery.


  • Transcoding and ingesting footage.


  • Maintain accessibility of the system and alert appropriate parties when down.


  • Maintain a backlog of requests.


  • Asset management and archiving of projects to LTO.


  • Maintain storage of files.


  • QC all deliverables.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


Additional Responsibilities


• This position will work closely with Dilated Pixels producers, other Editors, and Assistant Editor and may take creative direction from a variety of stakeholders.


• In partnership with your Dilated Pixels team members, ensure equitable experiences, strengthen inclusion acumen, and promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions of all team members


• Additional tasks include creating previews, social media, trailers, and documentary content


• You will be required to ingest footage and prepare multicam groups from multiple sources, cut selected reels from existing editorial projects, and perform other pre-processing prior to editorial


• You will be required to ingest source asset files, restore files from archive, and help prepare special projects outside of the standard daily workflow.


• You may work closely with the IT team to diagnose and solve pipeline, workflow, and other technical issues


Qualifications


• Minimum 7+ years of editorial work in a post-production facility delivering daily technically accurate content with creative revisions maintained


* Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite applications, and data management.


• Attention to detail with well-honed organizational and time-management skills; self-motivated and comfortable working in a high-demand, fast-paced environment


• Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with creative and operations partners


• Candidates should be highly organized, adaptable, and have excellent communication skills

Additional Requirements


• Experience with content security protocols required.


• Understanding of Archival practices and workflows required.


• Working knowledge of Compressor, After Effects, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve preferred.


• Working knowledge of metadata and marker integration into editorial projects preferred.
