Job Description

The Vice President US Retail Sales, Security will report directly to the President of the Security Business Unit within Fortune Brands Innovations and serve as a member of the Security Leadership Team. This role works together with functional leaders in the Security business and across FBIN.

We seek a leader who can think big and learn fast while managing over $325M of sales across the U.S. Retail and Consumer Electronics markets. This individual will provide leadership & direction to approximately 10 sales professionals distributed across the US and develop strategic & key account leadership talent & capabilities.

This role will be based in one of our offices located in Oak Creek, WI, Deerfield, IL, North Olmsted, OH, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Travel to customers is expected to be 30-40%.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develops business strategy including organic & inorganic growth, business improvement & supply chain excellence, and organizational excellence.
  • Develops, implements and adjusts strategies to optimize revenue profitability, and market share for the retail and consumer electronics channel. Develops awareness for the customer’s product needs and maintains or enhances customer relations.
  • Champions a clear channel of communication and coordination with Centers of Excellence and function counterparts – NPD, Brand, finance, supply chain, human resources, IT, etc.
  • Develop and execute a robust go-to-market strategy – right products, right price, right location(s)/customer(s); lead development of promotion strategy
  • Lead the remote sales team to ensure the successful achievement of sales, profit and market share objectives. Other KPI’s include shelf share, forecast accuracy, new product performance vs. forecast, variable CM%, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge and insights of the competitor landscape, marketing programs, and industry trends
  • Cultivates and fosters an environment of high performance through performance management, employee development, career progression and rewards and recognition.
  • Build organizational capability by aligning human capital with Fortune Brands Purpose, Strategic Drivers, and Behaviors

Qualifications

  • BS in Business or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience with a $200M+ consumer goods company; min. 5 years in sales leadership role
  • Deep understanding of Retail channel
  • Be a channel partner in leading with trust, service, and cutting-edge analytics and insights to drive category win-win across channels.
  • Proven negotiation skills and highly developed communication skills internally and externally with retail partners
  • Durable goods and/or security products and/or consumer electronic products experience preferred
  • Demonstrated category management skills – strong partnerships with big box merchants; ability to manage and exceed customer expectations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and execution skills
  • Strong track record of building teams, managing change & growing sales & share
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-energy, multitasking, and results-driving work environment
