About:

We are partnering with a pioneering global clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company listed in the US, with approved products across Rare Diseases, CNS, Infectious Diseases, and Cardiometabolic. We are seeking an executive to lead the next wave of clinical assets with a focus on Genetics.

The Role:

This role will report to the SVP and Head of Development and be responsible for all therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the selection of disease areas where our technology can create groundbreaking treatments.
• Direct multidisciplinary groups to select and rank diseases for research on specific targets.
• Engage with leading experts to shape early clinical approaches and pinpoint target diseases and conditions.
• Influence the selection process for early-stage projects in-house.
• Develop initial clinical trial plans focusing on thorough pharmacodynamics evaluation and preliminary effectiveness assessment, where feasible.
• Prepare for Phase 1 trials by guiding biomarker strategy.
• Be actively involved in discovering new targets, including collaboration with the statistical genetics team to leverage genotype-phenotype data.
• Oversee coordination with Clinical Development to ensure seamless progression of research projects into clinical phases and alignment with research objectives.
• Collaborate with commercial and portfolio management teams to align preclinical project focus with the company’s broader strategy.

Required Qualifications:

• Medical Doctor or MD/PhD, preferably with specialization in internal medicine or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in the industry.
• Proven capability in advancing research targets to clinical stages.
• Experience in laboratory research and a solid history of scientific publications.
• Curiosity-driven, with experience in early clinical development and research.
• Strong background in Genetics.
• Strong interest in biomarker research within dynamic research projects.
