Job Summary:

The Vice President of Research & Consulting is a new position on the Strategic Advisory team at Emigrant Partners. It will play an important role in the daily support and strategic planning work that Emigrant provides to its Partner Firms, which includes some of the largest and most successful independent firms in the wealth and asset management industries.

Specifically, Emigrant Partners is looking for an individual who can transform relevant industry research and data into actionable insights and intelligence that will educate and inform our Partner Firms, as well as Senior Leadership at Emigrant Partners. The ideal candidate will also be able to oversee proprietary research projects that are conducted by Emigrant. Importantly, they will also have the ability to use these research projects to identify and execute on targeted, one-to-one consulting opportunities with our Partner Firms. The ideal candidate will have the ability to combine strong analytical skills with a problem-solving, consultative mindset, and be able to present solutions that will drive growth for Emigrant's Partners Firms.

In addition, the Vice President of Research & Consulting will represent Emigrant Partners at face-to-face and virtual events and lead presentations at Emigrant events. They will play an important role in enhancing our position as an industry thought leader – and ultimately the premier provider of capital and strategic advice for the wealth and asset management industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with roughly 20 Emigrant Partner Firms on a range of strategic planning and consulting projects. These projects will generally focus on driving growth, improving productivity and profitability, organizational design, compensation planning and talent development.
  • Lead a number of strategic planning and consulting engagements with Partner Firms and oversee projects from discovery to delivery. Manages project milestones and timelines.
  • Take primary responsibility for overseeing proprietary Emigrant research projects, which will include regular industry benchmarking programs, as well as "pulse projects" that are developed to better understand and analyze timely topics and trends. Institutionalize Emigrant's overall research efforts.
  • Develop presentations and research studies that are distributed to Emigrant's Partner Firms. Will also be charged with identifying potential third-party research partners and new outlets for distributing Emigrant research.
  • Deliver presentations at Emigrant in-person events and webinars; also present research on behalf of Emigrant at Partner Firm events and relevant industry conferences/webinars.
  • Responsible for working directly with proprietary data sets and conducting independent analysis that will inform both research and consulting projects.
  • Works as part of a team to build benchmarks and dashboards that measure financial performance, productivity and return on investments in technology, marketing and personnel.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in wealth management and/or asset management consulting roles or analyst roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, such as finance, economics or statistics
  • Quantitative background and a proven ability to perform analysis preferred
  • Experience using survey, research and analytical tools (i.e. Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) required. Experience using data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau) an added bonus
  • Experience using MS Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
