Vice President, Real Estate Consulting

John Burns Real Estate Consulting seeks an experienced Real Estate professional to be our market leader in Phoenix. Our market leader will be responsible for business development and helping to lead the regional consulting practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of residential real estate development strategies and have experience in the residential consulting, homebuilding, or residential land development industries, be a self‐starter, be extremely organized, and be able to sell, generate, lead, and conduct consulting assignments. Candidates must be able to work in a fast‐paced work environment, work independently, manage shifting priorities, and multi‐task to meet deadlines. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, and encouraged candidates must have excellent relationships within the residential real estate development markets and related fields.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Business Development leader responsible for selling consulting services to homebuilders, land developers, capital sources, the public sector, and other target clients
  • Consistent and in‐depth interaction with prospective clients and industry professionals through in‐person meetings and other points of contact
  • A regional spokesperson for the firm, as evidenced by attending and speaking engagements at key industry events, and interacting with various media sources
  • Conduct market feasibility and strategic analyses for clients, which might include lenders/capital partners, builders, and land developers, to advise them in acquiring and developing profitable real estate investments
  • Responsible for the final deliverable – written analysis, along with remarkable visual reports that include data tables, graphs, and charts
  • Prepare and present findings to the client in verbal and written form
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the business and maximize personal and professional success
  • Conducting market research on consulting projects, which could involve travel by car or airplane


Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum five years of residential real estate market experience in the residential consulting, homebuilding, or residential land development industries, or equivalent years of extensive industry‐related expertise that is transferable to this position. The candidate must be strong in analysis and fieldwork
  • Strong knowledge and established relationships in Phoenix with our potential clients
  • Must be able to work with all levels of personnel professionally
  • Manage other team members and multiple projects
  • Advanced software skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Organized, reliable, trustworthy, dedicated individual
