The purpose of the position Vice President, Purchasing is to develop, communicate and execute the procurement strategy across all categories, Warehousing, Contract Packaging, Transportation and Headquarters under its scope to optimize the Total Cost of Ownership for IDL Logistics USA.
The role will act as commercial leader for USA cross functional projects within the indirect procurement categories. He/she will have a deep understanding of the operations strategies and business needs for its cope and will work closely with the Key stakeholders to build the category strategies and execute them.
The position is expected to be the main driver creating savings and spend insight for the Logistics sites and Headquarters in the USA including transparency on processes and policies . Additionally, the position is expected to report and share findings, savings and transferring best practice experiences across the procurement community.
The position is accountable to deliver ‘Cost out’, ‘Value in’, ‘Cash in’, promoting the environment strategy of ID logistics and requires close cooperation with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the steering of ID logistics USA:
- Lead and manage the purchasing team
- Drive the team toward the objectives of the Procurement function for the US.
- Ensure priorities are set and met, manage resources.
- Animate team and develop team members.
- Deliver short, medium, long term sourcing strategy for the indirect categories with local footprint
- Align strategy and tactics with key stakeholders for its perimeter.
- Build an excellent understanding of the regional 1st and 2nd tier vendors market for the indirect categories.
- Map internal and external spend and cost drivers and create spend transparency.
- Recommend the best portfolio to match the ID logistics USA need
- Accountable to create and deliver a pipeline of procurement initiatives for the country
- Foster innovative ideas and ways of working
- Build a strong SRM program with the key partners of the regions and the group
- Responsible for the regional execution of procurement activities (category activities, tools and processes…)
- Creating and executing a pipeline of activities in alignment with the business units in the region
- Support the internal customers with their queries, by aligning their needs and the procurement strategies
- Lead negotiations on a national, regional and local level
- Secure sustainable partnership with strategic suppliers
- Ensure IDL’s best conditions in the market
- Continuously analyze the supply market to identify new opportunities
- Align with all relevant business functions in achieving strategic company targets
- Secure sharing of information and support for the local organizations and market
- Develop lead and participate in cross functional teams

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related background. Master's degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in leadership within purchasing, procurement, preferably in a warehousing or distribution center environment.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting.
- 3PL, warehousing, or distribution center experience preferred.
- Able to live within the key markets of Northeast Pennsylvania, Atlanta Metro, or Chicago as a remote worker.
- Able to travel domestically 25%-30%.
