Summary

The Vice President, Organizational Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive risk, security, and safety programs and services for the organization. This position will oversee key aspects of security operations, including the safety and security of people, facilities, and fans.

Primary Job Duties

The Vice President, Organizational Security will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, to the following:

  • Analyze existing processes, identify critical needs, establish risk, safety, and security standards, execute, and lead the risk, safety, and security functions focused on the business operations (ex: Crisis Management Plan).
  • Management and oversight of facility security, staff and vendors, including day to day oversight, training, performance management, etc.
  • Partner closely with cross functional leaders to identify procedural gaps related to risk, safety, and security and implement solutions to support the Club's commitments to safety and integrity.
  • Collaborate with the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority and its contractors to coordinate risk, safety, and security programs for State Farm Stadium, consistent with NFL rules and policies and federal Safety Act certification and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with NFL policies covering physical security, investigations, and special event planning and management for business operations objectives.
  • Collaborate with VP, Team Security where overlap occurs, i.e. Stadum Security initiatives.
  • Ensures coordination of transport and security for the President and other key executives for any required events, including managing team security as needed for travel, appearances, gameday activities, etc.
  • Responsible for asset protection attributes across all locations, including operational audit program, field loss prevention, investigations, safety standards, and internal controls surrounding cash, product, equipment operation, and physical security.
  • Lead and manage the risk function and supporting team members across the organization, including plan development and implementation to support asset protection initiatives.
  • Partner closely with all departments to identify risk and implement procedures to safeguard company assets, team members, and guests.
  • Develop, implement and manage process and policy for the timely reporting for day-to-day security operations as well as documentation of any and all incidents, personnel items and other items of note while ensuring any and all reports are appropriately filed, and notice is provided to relevant departments and leadership.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage complex investigations involving risk, safety, security, threats, alleged impropriety, or improper or criminal conduct involving employees, contractors, vendors, etc.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of operational budgets as they relate to the security department.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the President, Executive staff, Management team, Players, Service Providers, Vendors, etc.
  • Conducts regular training sessions for staff on security awareness, emergency procedures, and crisis management.
  • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Other risk, safety, and security-related issues as assigned by the President.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Emergency Availability - Available normal business hours, nights, weekends, and holidays to address significant issues or alarms that may arise at Club facilities or affecting Club personnel.
  • Excellent judgment is required as a senior executive of one of the most high-profile organizations in Arizona. Our brand is defined with each event we stage with our fans, corporate partners (sponsors) and other guests. Risk, Safety, and Security must be excellent, fan-friendly and with the understanding that the experience our guests have will define what they think of our brand.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting complex and varied investigations to include, but not limited to financial crimes, crimes of violence, gambling offenses, weapons offenses, and drug and alcohol-related offenses.
  • Expertise in both civil and criminal judicial processes, to include rules of evidence, prosecutorial determinations, court proceedings, and civil lawsuits.
  • Strong background in intelligence gathering, to include familiarity and use of online resources, subscription services and public record checks.
  • Effective communication; dealing with all levels in the organization as well as fans, law enforcement, etc., creating and delivering presentations, capable of rapidly creating detailed, yet concise written reports.
  • Extensive network of law enforcement contacts at the local, state, and federal level.
  • Familiarity with current social media and its usage.
  • Proficiency in the use of investigative databases.
  • Expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Physical Demands - Role requires extended periods (10+ hours) of standing, climbing stairs, and walking in connection with gameday operations.
  • Travel - Travel domestically during the NFL season and occasionally in the offseason with the potential of limited international travel is required for this position. While frequency and duration of travel will vary throughout the year, applicants should anticipate approximately 40%-50% travel.
