Summary

In collaboration with the CEO and Executive Leadership, the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for the development of a strategic and collaborative plan to identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with other community providers, stakeholders, and key partners that align with organizational goals and further supports and enhances the mission of Pillars Community Health. Success in this position comes from developing and building upon existing partnerships and developing new partnerships.


General Responsibilities of a Vice President

  • Serves as integral member of Pillars Community Health leadership team.
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership.
  • Demonstrates and promotes leadership values of honesty, trust, accountability and collaboration.
  • Demonstrates and promotes open line of communication.
  • Works collaboratively with other management team members to leverage cross- program strengths and integration of services, to take advantage of new opportunities and to address organizational challenges.
  • Ensures activities within area of direct responsibility, and leadership and management in general, operates ethically and within parameters of Pillars Community Heath mission, vision, and standards of conduct.
  • Promotes culture of high performance and continuous improvement by, among other things:
  • Remaining current on industry best practices related to areas of responsibility and improving internal systems with eye towards future needs and within budget parameters.
  • Instilling a coaching/mentoring culture to further develop organizational leadership and succession and promote accountability.
  • Demonstrates in self and promotes cultural humility and sensitivity, equitable and just practices, mutual respect, and inclusiveness.
  • Actively commit to the value of supporting a diverse work force reflecting the diversity of our communities, consumers, and stakeholders.


Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Executive Team and Director of Marketing, collaboratively develops key partnership strategies to align with PCH Strategic goals.
  • Keeps abreast of local and regional healthcare and social service trends and developments to identify potential collaborations and partners.
  • Researches, identifies, and develops new partnership opportunities that align with PCH strategic goals.
  • Develops and implements operational plans for strategic partnership development, assuring coordination with service delivery leadership to build collaborative teams to develop and maintain relationships needed for successful delivery of our healthcare and social services.
  • Effectively engages key stakeholders.
  • On behalf of PCH, builds and strengthens relationships with other non-profit providers, government, business, public health, and education entities.
  • Participates in local coalitions, collaboratives, chambers and/or community groups as requested by CEO.
  • Create a short and long-term plan for partner retention.
  • Participate in development and evaluation of PCH outreach team activities that align with key strategic partnership strategies and operational plans.
  • Negotiates partnership MOUs and/or affiliation agreements in partnership with PCH leadership and legal counsel.
  • Partners with Director of Marketing to develop a social media strategy for development of partnerships.
  • Utilizes PCH’s social media platforms to promote services, activities, and news, which will develop and strengthen PCH’s digital brand.
  • Completes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to hiring and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance, providing coaching and development, addressing concerns, and resolving problems, and completing administrative requirements.
  • Participates in all team, department, and organizational meetings and training requirements.

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

5-8 years of demonstrated leadership experience in community partnership development and community engagement. Healthcare and/or nonprofit experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with the communities that Pillars Community Health serves is also strongly preferred.


Language:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency preferred; not required for consideration.

  • Knowledge of the western and southwestern Chicago suburbs is also a plus.


Other

Local travel among sites and to community events and functions, trainings, etc. Some statewide travel required. Normal accessibility and mobility through the sites navigating stairs, inclines, ramps, carpeted, smooth and rough surfaces.
