The Position

The Vice President of Strategic Growth leads innovative strategy across our network of veterinary hospitals. They oversee the process of analyzing new market opportunities, developing business cases, and tracking performance across strategic growth initiatives. They collaborate closely across the CareVet senior leadership team, Operations, Financial Operations, Talent Acquisition, and People and Culture Teams, and more. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a background in operations and management consulting. This leader collaborates well within a team, communicates clearly, is data-driven, and eager to help our organization grow.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and scale new business segments within CareVet to drive organic growth
  • P&L responsibility for three high-growth segments currently totaling approximately $15M in gross revenues
  • Lead a team of Directors, each of whom are responsible for their own business segment
  • Identify additional adjacent revenue sources that complement our 200+ veterinary hospitals
  • Lead cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life
  • Define processes required to support each segment
  • Assess competitive landscape
  • Ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned


Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; MBA preferred
  • General Manager, Director, or VP for a quickly growing business unit of a large organization
  • 10 or more years in management consulting, business operations, and/or strategic planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to define strategy, influence others to buy-in, and execute the vision
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and designing processes from scratch through collaboration with others
  • Proven ability to translate findings from complex datasets into actionable strategies.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including financial analysis, competitive positioning, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
