Vice President of Software Engineering

Role the role:

The VP of Engineering at Cyderes reports to the President, Managed Services, has directors as direct reports and leads an engineering organization of developers, engineers, agile leads, and people managers. This role is a critical role to the continuous development and scaling of Cyderes services. The successful candidate will utilize the strategy of the business, as well as partnering with key peer groups including Delivery, Client Success, Sales, Strategy and Product Management, to create an Engineering strategy as well as external and internal roadmaps. The role collaborates across the business including Managed Services, IAM, Professional Services and DARC4 to bring solutions and visibility to Cyderes’ clients and internal stakeholders. In addition, this role helps build a strategic technical vision for the future of Cyderes and Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide the development of the Cyderes platform used to deliver services, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability while driving the adoption/evaluation of new cloud technologies and tools that align with business goals and technical needs
• Define, develop, own, and communicate the Engineering strategy to the organization based on the business’ strategy, objectives, and mission as well as build roadmaps based on the strategy
• Lead multiple Engineering teams with different objectives and roadmaps including: Agile Delivery, Security Orchestration and Automation, DevOps, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics
• Define OKRs and KPIs to monitor and manage the success and performance of the teams within Engineering
• Cultivate a high-performing, blameless, and empowering Engineering culture
• Identify and work to resolve client-facing issues while working with the customer success team and other teams within managed services
• Possess an in-depth understanding of all Cyderes business units and Cyderes services and possess the ability to communicate to executive leadership
• Manage team budget adhering to company objectives and drive team growth when needed
• Collaborate with the Cyderes Partner team to foster and enhance relationships with partners, utilizing their product roadmaps to help build and drive strategy
• Identify internal and external opportunities and collaborate with Executive leadership to drive innovation and solutions
• Assist the sales, customer success, and product teams with communication around feature development and roadmaps, including attending customer executive briefings and pre-sales meetings ad-hoc
• Assist with ad-hoc efforts for various functional areas in the organization
• Lead efforts to identify barriers to operational success across the pillars of Managed Services and drive solutions to address business needs and ensure operational excellence
  
  
  
  
  

Requirments:

• 10+ years of leadership experience including dealing with difficult situations, managing leaders, and leading individuals to success 
• 9+ years of experience working on or with software development teams using CI/CD, agile methodologies, and SDLC 
• BS/MS, Computer Science / Engineering or relevant industry experience  Must have experience working in Managed Security Services or Cybersecurity Industry
• Experience hiring and mentoring engineering teams while leading them to success. Preferably experience managing a global team.  
• Ability to inspire ownership/accountability and confidence for high performing development teams  
• Ability to deliver critical project features which involve integration with multiple different teams all while shipping multiple complex projects at a time 
• Knowledge of cloud technology environments and applications (GCP, AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture 
• Proven experience with developing relationships and trust across multiple levels of an organization
