Mantell Associates is partnered with a growing CDMO in their search for a Vice President of Sales. In this key executive role, you will be primarily responsible for increasing sales and significantly growing the business to achieve organizational goals.
Vice President of Sales - Responsibilities:
Manage, develop, and execute territory business plans with the Business Development Team to increase sales bookings from existing and new accounts and overall, meaningfully and significantly contribute to revenue growth
Understand organizational capabilities, capacity, and margins to develop sales plans, target markets & customers and set strategic sales goals for individuals and the company
Coach and hold accountable the Business Development and Marketing teams to properly identify qualified leads generated by digital marketing and drive to successful booking of sales
Conduct periodic training, development, and focus sessions with staff to align efforts with group and corporate strategic goals
Identify key influencers in existing accounts; develop and qualify new account leads and business opportunities from industry contacts/networking opportunities
Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals set by CEO/CFO
Work closely with ELT to set strategies to position for growth
Travel to clients and trade show events as needed and appropriate to optimize position objectives and goals
Lead the marketing efforts to advance and optimize brand recognition and market awareness to generate new customer leads
Participate in major corporate level transactions as required, for example asset sales or acquisitions
Build and maintain key relationships with existing and potential clients; network with business development and scientific personnel of all levels; attending trade show events, business seminars and entertaining existing/new clients
Understand the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry, market dynamics, trends, competitors, and FDA regulations
Understand and address both business and technical needs of clients; promoting company capabilities by outlining features, benefits, and services; listening to client's needs and expectations
Send ballpark estimates and full proposals/contracts to clients and follow-up to make revisions and close the business
Manage annual budget in a responsible and cost effective and efficient manner
Participate in executive level meetings and as required, board meetings to present reports and participate in strategic planning
Establish credibility and build strong working and collaborative relationships within organization including Project Management, Formulation, Analytical and Regulatory, and Law Dept
Present sales opportunities and key territory activities to business development team and senior management as requested
Work with financials to establish sales commission plans, forecast revenue by customer and type, and create annual budget targets
Any other special projects as defined by executive management from time to time
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures including ethical and compliance standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Vice President of Sales - Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or science, preferably pharmaceutical healthcare-related or equivalent experience
A minimum of twenty years of sales experience as a territory sales representative or a business development role, with key leadership roles over some period. Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical or related life science sales would be preferred
Demonstrate the ability to establish good working relationships with other departments, including vendors, colleagues, and subordinates
Demonstrates the appropriate technical knowledge necessary to make sound decisions on development issues with minimal supervision
Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and information and assess and resolve complex problems/issues as required
Must be able to comprehend and follow all applicable SOPs
Demonstrate knowledge and experience with electronic Quality Management Systems such as MasterControl and Trackwise
Demonstrate ability to acquire the appropriate knowledge from resources on the current federal, local, and international regulations regarding the production, testing, and release of drug substances and products
Demonstrate the ability to obtain appropriate level of knowledge of cGMPs, industry, and regulatory standards and guidelines
Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, Outlook, etc.
Demonstrate the ability to portray the appropriate level of integrity and professionalism
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, regulators, and client representatives in written and verbal formats
Demonstrate the ability to complete tasks accurately and according to established and shifting timelines
Demonstrate the ability to make quality scheduling, resource allocation, and priorities decisions
Energetic, execution-focused, self-motivated, and organized individual who is accustomed to working in a deadline-focused, high-pressure entrepreneurial environment
