The Barcode Group is looking to hire a VP of Sales supporting the Digital business to join our exceptional team of individuals who are passionate about delivering uncompromising customer service and driving business growth for our clients. The VP of Sales role will lead the Sales function of the team. They will be responsible for prospecting and securing new clients, while also maintaining relationships and driving strategic growth with an ongoing book of business.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive growth for vendors, including sales growth, volume, and profitability within the Amazon Vendor and Seller Central platforms
Attend trade shows and conduct ongoing competitive analysis to identify and establish relationships with new customers to drive overall growth
Manage all aspects of the sales cycle (lead generation, proposals, presentations, negotiating, closing, etc.)
Lead effective meetings for business plan development, product presentations, retail strategies, and ad spend planning to ensure growth across the retail ecosystem.
Drive increased sales with existing customers by ensuring overall account/retailer satisfaction with service, actionable insights & deliverables, and leveraging all available resources
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customer contacts to ensure maximized growth opportunities and to build a reputation for excellent service and positive referrals
Proactively identify solutions, anticipate issues, and develop plans to mitigate risks
Collaborate on the effective utilization of advertising budgets to drive program objectives
Serve as a key point of contact for vendors and retailers, communicating relevant information in a timely and satisfactory manner, developing an omnichannel approach for our clients
Serve as the cross-functional team leader on each account in your portfolio, responsible for ensuring that the supporting teams are aligned on client strategy and executing functional roles to support clients' goals
Qualifications
10+ years progressive experience Account Management, and/or Sales, with Amazon Agency or Amazon business-related role (1P and 3P experience preferred)
3-5 years experience leading a high-performing sales team
Experience with national account sales and/or large account penetration, negotiation, and maintenance techniques
Demonstrated skill in building long-term strategic business and short-term implementation plans, balancing strategic and tactical needs
Proven experience in developing and achieving sales goals
Strong market knowledge of the eCommerce retail sector
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to lead through influence and work collaboratively
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while successfully meeting and exceeding established goals and deadlines; manage work in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment
Proficient organizational and project management skills, with strong attention to detail
Strong financial acumen, including experience working with P&Ls and financial analysis
Superior written and verbal communication skills in a remote working environment, including proficiency presenting to and influencing both internal and external audiences
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Ability to work full-time from home with the occasional in-person meeting/travel opportunity
