Position Title: Vice President of Risk and Safety
Location: Fayetteville, AR
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Position Overview: The Vice President of Risk and Safety is a strategic leader responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management and safety strategies that support the company’s goals. This role will oversee all aspects of risk management, safety programs, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness. The ideal candidate is a transformational leader with a passion for safety and a track record of driving positive organizational change.

Responsibilities And Duties
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a risk and safety strategy that aligns with the company’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on all risk and safety matters.
- Lead organizational development initiatives to enhance overall safety culture and ensure continuous improvement.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization, developing strategies to mitigate and manage these risks.
- Implement risk management frameworks and policies to ensure comprehensive coverage and proactive risk mitigation.
- Monitor and report on risk exposure, providing actionable insights to the executive team.
- Safety Programs:
- Oversee the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
- Promote a culture of safety through training, awareness programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Manage and oversee insurance programs to ensure accuracy and consistency regarding compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and manage all compliance reporting and documentation.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response:
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans to ensure the organization is ready for any potential crises.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve safety practices.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective emergency response and recovery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive risk management and safety leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful risk and safety strategies in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of risk management and safety best practices and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), or similar are a plus.
