Vice President of MEP Operations - Commercial Projects - Northeast US


Gryphon Oakwood are currently seeking an experienced Vice President of MEP Operations with 15+ years within the Commercial MEP Construction market. The MEP Leader steers the success of diverse Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and deadlines.


Responsibilites:

  • Bridging the Gap: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project goals and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Roadmapping Success: Develop MEP project plans, schedules, and budgets to keep everything on track.
  • Seamless Integration: Coordinate with all disciplines to ensure MEP systems seamlessly blend into the overall building design.
  • Guardian of Standards: Review, prepare, and assess MEP designs to guarantee compliance with building codes and industry best practices.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide guidance for optimal system selection and implementation, ensuring the most efficient solutions.
  • Green Light for Construction: Approve final designs and secure necessary permits before construction begins.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely solutions.
  • Ensuring Quality: Review and approve proposals, calculations, and drawings, upholding all codes and regulations.
  • Leading the MEP Team: Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment by leading and mentoring a team of MEP engineers and designers.
  • Client Communication Champion: Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed of project updates, address concerns, and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Transparency through Communication: Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss MEP progress and milestones.
  • Building Strong Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, prioritizing their needs and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Staying Ahead of the Curve: Stay up-to-date with the latest codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure project compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related field)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license mandatory
  • Proven track record (15+ years ideal) managing MEP projects in construction, particularly commercial or institutional buildings
  • In-depth knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and MEP industry standards
  • Adept at using MEP design software and project management tools
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, fostering collaboration with diverse teams and clients
  • Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and teams effectively
