We are seeking a Vice President of Medical Affairs to join the DermaSensor team. Join our startup and help improve access to skin cancer detection. You will support the development and execution of our global strategy for medical affairs with studies and commercial efforts spanning three continents. The Vice President of Medical Affairs will:

  • Be responsible for developing and substantiating claims based on reliable scientific evidence from clinical, observational, real-world and independent studies for use in educational and promotional materials (i.e. data interpretation, extrapolations from publications, internal analyses, etc.)
  • Serve as the medical/scientific guide on the execution of product launches, claims, clinician support content/tools/services, and point of view/public relations statements.
  • Lead the refinement of medical affairs strategy and optimize its implementation with health systems, medical groups, physicians, office staff and patients
  • Ensure the accuracy of promotional material and medical information
  • Responsible for the development and execution of medical cross-functional strategies in alignment with other functions to optimize the user experience and benefits of device use.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts in the planning and development of studies, publications, presentations, white papers, and trainings
  • Provide medical/scientific guidance on the development of clinical and post-marketing studies.
  • Coordinate the planning, writing, publication and presentation of medical information for publications, abstracts, posters and conference presentations
  • Assist with the development and completion of regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with health plans, payors, KOLs and physicians to conduct or facilitate post-marketing studies, as well as gain their insights into ways to enhance product-market fit.
  • Analyse and support proposals for investigator-initiated studies (IIS)
  • Identify and manage value-add activities enabling market access support among payers, health plans, medical societies, foundations, etc.
  • Collaborate with DermaSensor’s SAB and other stakeholders to position the company for early customer success & strong market adoption s (IIS)



ABOUT YOU


• 15+ years of clinical and medical products industry experience, including at least 8 years in medical affairs, with an in depth knowledge of post marketing study design and analysis methods for medical technologies.

• Advanced degree in healthcare-related discipline; preferred Medical Doctor within primary care and/or a dermatology specialization

• Primarily remote role, with quarterly working weeks in company’s Miami, FL offices, and regular attendance at medical conferences, onsite health plan installations, and field support. 

• Comfortable with post-marketing study design methods, statistical analysis and the writing of medical literature.

• Experience with market access and reimbursement is a plus.

• Passion for building innovative, life-saving products; measuring your own success in terms of the success of the product and real-world impact.

• Familiarity with healthcare systems and their objectives and decision-making.

• High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

• Strategic acumen with strong research abilities; able to define complex problems and creatively frame and design effective process, tools and services solutions.

• Collaborative, team-first attitude – maximizing team performance and value ideas on their merits.

• Ability to collaborate with team members under pressure and iterate quickly, especially in remote settings.

• Superior verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to travel 40% of the time, mostly within the US, but also internationally.
