Our client is a vertically integrated investment management firm that invests within the premium-branded (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt) hotel space, specifically focusing on limited and select-service hotels. In addition to acquiring hotels, they have originated or acquired $3.6bn of hotel debt through their lending arm, completed 50 ground-up development deals, and built an internal property management company that operates over 80 hotels across the US. Our client has executed over $6.4bn of deals (approximately 500 transactions) in the hotel space. Since the pandemic began, they have invested in over 125 deals, more than $3.7 billion of equity, and have a robust pipeline of potential new investments. Our client believes they’re on the cusp of a new growth cycle to capitalize on as the hospitality sector recovers.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Investor Relations manages and enhances the firm’s relationships with its investors and stakeholders. This role involves strategically communicating the firm’s financial health, market positioning, and investment opportunities to existing and potential investors. The VP of Investor Relations ensures transparent and effective communication, fostering trust and engagement with the investment community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Job Description)
Serve as the main point of contact for LP communications regarding distributions, tax matters, and accounting.
Oversee non-operational related IR inquiries.
Contribute to the direction and oversight of LP reporting.
Direct the creation and implementation of content initiatives, including webinars, campaigns, brochures, and quarterly fund recordings.
Manage the implementation and upkeep of the client portal and data rooms.
Track and oversee items and deliverables within Salesforce.
Maintain awareness of investor sentiment by attending advisor meetings and conferences.
IDEAL CANDIDATE/ Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Business Administration or other.
7-10 years of experience in the investment industry, with 3-4 years of dedicated involvement with Investor Relations.
In-depth knowledge of real estate investments, coupled with the ability to engage effectively with sophisticated investors.
Proficiency in understanding and conveying details of multiple funds to partners.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly and concisely.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and reporting standards in the real estate industry.
Experience in a managerial or leadership role, overseeing at least one direct report.
Sound judgment, integrity, and solid work ethic.
Excellent attention to detail.
Effective prioritization skills with the proven ability to work well under pressure.
