We are seeking a VP of Finance and Accounting to join our team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP will be a key member of the team and will assume a strategic role in the overall development and growth of the Company domestically and internationally. This person will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, deal analysis and negotiations, banking and investor relationships as well as driving private and institutional financing or liquidity events. In addition, a strong background in interpreting and implementing Business Intelligence and Big Data will be highly important. The right candidate will also have a strong background in M&A activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and oversees the company's financial administration and planning, including but not limited to financial policy development and implementation, management of accounting systems, budget planning and implementation, risk management and insurance, purchasing, taxation, short- and long-term forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Analyzes and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; communicates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversees and manages relationships with lending institutions and the financial community
  • Actively influences company direction, growth, strategic planning, product development, financial forecasting, and Sr. Management Team
  • Manages the functional areas of internal and external financial reporting and control, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, investor relations, and audit management information.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors an effective, efficient internal control system to provide timely and accurate delivery of all financial reports and support financial and business operations consistent with the company's growth and reporting requirements.
  • Builds new and maintains existing cash forecasting tools. Analyzes cash flow, cost control, and expenses. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas and provide recommendations and possible solutions.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance, oversight, and mentoring of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations


Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 10 -15 years of experience, preferably in operational finance roles in a technology company
  • Experience supporting multiple businesses/product lines with varying revenue models and growth trajectories is preferred
  • At least 3 years of management experience
  • Track record of partnering with Executive Leadership to establish and track revenue goals
  • Proven knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws
  • Exceptional accounting and finance skills
  • Ability to hire, direct, coach, and lead team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Strong Experience with M&A transactions
  • Outstanding financial acumen blended with business partnership and leadership
  • Outstanding knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods.
  • High level of experience in analyzing and applying Business Intelligence, with a proven track record of process improvement, needed control, and transformation initiatives
  • A passionate, high-energy, visionary leader capable of driving speed and discipline throughout the organization.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • MBA
  • Experience coordinating and leading annual audit process and liaising with external auditors
  • Experience in the cannabis industry or with start-up SaaS organizations.


This role is open to anyone within the United States, except for candidates in CA, with compensation that aligns with your location. Starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, unlimited paid time off, and other benefits. SALARY RANGE: $190,000 - $225,000 per year.
