Vice President of Engineering

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Engineering with a proven track record of building and leading teams to successful large-scale products, particularly within a microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, technology strategy, and team management, with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments. As VP of Engineering, you will play a crucial role and own our innovative technology as well as help define our corporate infrastructure. You will define our security efforts in order to maintain a high security posture. Sometimes, this role will require hands-on implementation to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. This position will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development.
• Develop and execute the technical vision and strategy for the company, aligning with business goals.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and robust software solutions leveraging modern technologies.
• Define and enforce the highest security standards and practices company-wide, including SOC 2 and striving for additional relevant security certifications.
• Work closely with the Director of Customer Success to understand the trends in customer tickets and to help prioritize the roadmap based on customer feedback.
• Collaborate closely with the product, sales, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver exceptional products.
• Help set up engineering infrastructure and lead engineers in designing and implementing features and solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, processes, and tools.
• Monitor and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our products and technical strategy.
• Promote a customer-centric culture, representing the voice of the customer in product and technical discussions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully building and leading teams to deliver successful large-scale products, particularly within a microservices architecture.
• Strong technical expertise in software development, with proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to take an idea to a fully functional product and business.
• Basic understanding of AI and data modeling.
• Understanding of Web3 technologies and their market trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
• Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
• Commitment to defining and enforcing the highest security standards and practices company-wide, including SOC 2, with a proactive approach to obtaining additional relevant security certifications.
