What to expect

You must navigate a dynamic environment where you are actively improving the retail product and overseeing rapid growth. You will set clear expectations for all aspects of construction for over 100 corporate and franchise locations annually, requiring the team to oversee the entire construction process from permitting to open.

You are a leader at heart, you have managed teams, worked with C suite executives, and have a track record of successful value engineering.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast paced environments. They are a problem solver who has tremendous experience in high growth construction roles. Experience specifically in brick and mortar, small retail spaces, and franchising is required.

Prior performance with cross-functional collaboration between other high performing executives is fundamental. Setting high standards,, finding innovative process improvements, and proactive risk management will be critical for aligning construction projects with LFC’s ambitious growth objectives. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the construction process from inception to completion. This includes planning, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards across construction projects.
  • Ensure bids/construction budgets improve with time.
  • Oversee a team of project managers to ensure timely ordering and tracking of materials and equipment from vendors for an on-time arrival.
  • Oversee the bidding process and contract negotiations for corporate and franchise stores.
  • Maintain and manage an active pool of General Contractors (GC) for adequate numbers, quality of workmanship, and service level, and Architects to design plans.
  • Ensure the Design Intent Package (DIP) is up to date and concisely improving.

Essential Duties

  • Coordinate and manage first hand, or through your team, the construction process which includes, but is not limited to: communication and scheduling between designers, architects/engineers, GCs, contractors, and franchisees projects for corporate and franchise locations
  • Review and provide approval for plans, order changes and location specific requirements
  • Ensure the construction department keeps detailed records of all projects, and compare them to find value engineering opportunities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team and franchisees, ensuring adherence to best practices & change orders
  • Provide white glove support directly or through your team to franchisees to ensure they
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders and vendors to ensure plan accuracy.
  • Manage the permitting and approval phase of the development process, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained prior to initiating possession or construction phases.
  • Provide annual input for Franchise Disclosure Document updates.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail franchise construction management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or a relevant field is required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of professionals.
  • Extensive experience in managing projects, including contract negotiations, project planning, team coordination and communication, budgeting, schedule management, and franchisee coordination.
