Position Overview: Vice President of Communications, Marketing & Business Development
As the Vice President of Communications, Marketing & Business Development, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our visibility and advancing our mission. Lead strategic initiatives to strengthen our brand locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Leadership, and Management
Develop and execute annual strategic communication and marketing plans aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with leadership for cohesive messaging and positioning.
Establish the organization as a thought leader through media engagements and digital content.
Enhance public presence through innovative partnerships and outreach strategies.
Guide and support team members to achieve organizational objectives.
Marketing, Communications, and Branding
Create annual marketing plans to boost brand awareness and visitor engagement.
Oversee communication efforts across diverse media channels for a consistent message.
Cultivate media relationships for maximum visibility and manage press inquiries.
Lead social media initiatives for audience engagement and growth.
Ensure messaging aligns with the organization's brand and goals.
Business Development and Earned Revenue
Develop annual earned income plans through admissions, memberships, and events.
Analyze revenue streams to identify growth opportunities and implement innovative strategies.
Expand group tour visits and tourism outreach for increased admissions.
Establish partnerships to enhance visibility and financial growth.
Visitor Engagement
Ensure a welcoming environment for diverse visitors with necessary information and support.
Manage inventory in the Museum Shop, offering mission-aligned merchandise.
Collaborate for improved wayfinding and signage throughout the Museum.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
10+ years of experience in communications and marketing, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Proven expertise in media relations, advertising, and digital communications.
Strong background in business development and revenue management.
Excellent leadership skills with team management experience.
Skills And Abilities

Salary and Benefits
Target annual salary: $130,000
Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, and retirement contributions.

Ability to navigate stairs and perform tasks like lifting up to 25 pounds.
