REPORTS TO: SVP Lean Business System

TRAVEL: 20% domestic and international



Position Overview


The VP, Commercial Excellence will be responsible for utilizing the company’s Lean Business System to drive Growth and Innovation. The right candidate will be responsible for the design, modification, and delivery of the company’s Lean/CI toolbox principles and tools with a focus on growth and leadership. They will be the expert on and have the opportunity to implement and drive one of the newest tools within the toolbox. They will add value to the corporation and its operating companies by reducing non-value-added items that free up resources to make investments that support their best customers with their best products and drive profitable growth. They will drive enterprise selling approaches to gain stronger business partnerships. They will also increase partnership with the organization to secure enterprise growth in focused end markets guiding enterprise accounts.



Key Responsibilities


  • Leading the implementation and execution of Lean/Growth processes across the corporation and its operating companies globally
  • Building out the commercial and enterprise selling toolkit including standard work and training materials
  • Assisting SVP of Lean/CI and other Sr. Leadership in the development of the Lean Business System roadmap and leading elements of its execution across Lean, Growth, and Leadership-related activities
  • Coaching and teaching embedded operating company employees on Lean Fundamentals and commercial excellence; facilitating training and other learning activities
  • Acting as knowledge expert and resource for the corporation and its operating companies across the nine fundamentals in the toolkit, including Kaizen, Problem Solving, 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Daily Management, and more
  • Building out the commercial excellence and fundamentals toolkit including standard work and training materials
  • Promoting the implementation and execution of the Growth/Innovation toolkit (sales funnel management, product portfolio management, design thinking, value selling, etc.) across the company and its opcos
  • Redefining the Lean Business System to incorporate Agile frameworks for problem solving, daily management, kaizens, solution selling, etc., leveraging the strengths of both systems for optimal performance
  • Championing a culture of innovation and preparing “standard work” rollout models, creating a blueprint for any OpCo to rapidly move on the Agile adoption curve
  • Cultivating Agile Leadership in a Business System context by fostering leadership competencies; appreciating, internalizing, and evangelizing models that work for both manufacturing and technology businesses
  • Implementing a performance metrics system that not only evaluates operational efficiency but also assesses the progress and impact of integrating business agility into the company’s Business System


Education and Experience


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • Advanced degree or Masters in Business Administration a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of related leadership experience in Lean Business System Deployment utilizing Growth, Innovation, and Commercial Excellence tools (sales funnel management, product portfolio management, design thinking, value selling, etc.)
  • Experience managing large accounts and/or P&L leadership experience
  • Ability to build capabilities for delivering large-scale enterprise solutions using a Lean Business System and Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean tools including Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20
  • Ability to utilize problem solving tools like root cause analysis, action plans, and remediation
  • Ability to read and understand financial documents and utilize Databases (SQL, Access, etc.); understand complex data and present in a consumable fashion
  • Ability to enhance organizational agility by promoting a flexible and adaptive culture; experience implementing Agile practices across various business units and encourage collaboration and fast decision-making
  • Ability to establish and nurture a continuous learning culture; encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and a mindset of continuous improvement across the organization
  • Skilled in building relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders; excellent interpersonal, leadership, influencing, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel 25%, domestic and international



Compensation


  • Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. It will include a base salary and an annual performance bonus, long term incentives, and other benefits and perquisites.
