Founded in 1972, our client is a Primary Care Medical Home for more than 73,000 low-income patients, and a vital resource for more than 125,000 children and adults from over 600 communities in Illinois.
Summary: The role of Vice President of Clinical Operations is a key leadership role responsible for all ` aspects of the Integrated Care Center, including Medical, Nursing, Psychiatry, and Therapy services. The position also oversees specialty clinical and care coordination services, including the youth education program. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations to ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of youth care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership in all aspects of ICC Clinical operations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality healthcare service delivery.
2. Resource Management:
- Manage and allocate resources, including staffing, budgets, and supplies, to support clinical operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
3. Quality and Patient Safety:
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and youth safety measures.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., JCAHO, CMS).
4. Clinical Services Management:
- Collaborate with all ICC departments to ensure coordinated and effective youth care.
- Monitor and improve clinical service quality and youth outcomes.
- Oversee the Care Coordination services and Care plans for all youth, including their education program.
5. Staff Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of healthcare professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
6. Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development of ICC operations strategies aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Implement and execute plans to achieve these goals.
7. Patient Experience:
- Focus on enhancing the youth experience by improving service delivery, communication, and youth satisfaction.
- Implement youth-centered care initiatives.
8. Technology and Innovation:
- Stay updated on healthcare technology trends and industry best practices.
- Implement innovative technologies and approaches to enhance operational efficiency and youth care.
9. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including healthcare laws and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and adapt processes accordingly.
10. Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial aspects of healthcare operations, including budgeting, revenue cycle management, and cost control.
- Accountable for ICC Medicaid Billing services
- Collaborate with finance and administration teams to optimize financial performance.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Directly supervise all onsite clinical staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications/Education and/or Experience:
- LSCW or LCPC license
- Advanced degree in healthcare administration, healthcare management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in healthcare operations, preferably in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific, technical and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret various graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT:
Ability to understand and demonstrate our client’s 5-step Performance Improvement process, utilizing the methodology PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act).
