Vice President of Child and Family Well-being

Job Purpose: The Vice President of Child and Family Well-being is responsible for providing programmatic leadership and management in overseeing all aspects of contact compliance and service delivery within the Child and Family Well-being Program.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in social / human services administration and minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising direct reports required.
  • Proven track record of managing the strategic, operational and financial aspects of an organization with a similar human and social services scope.
  • Proven ability to build strong external relationships with partner organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with applicable licensing standards, performance regulations, state, federal, and local guidelines/ordinances, grant requirements and organization policies and procedures related to work of DMCPS, Presidium and COA.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and delegate across multiple programs / departments.
  • Knowledge of the Trauma Informed Care (TIC) model and its application to practice.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills to quickly assess situations, identify trends, develop solutions, and apply critical assessments to the larger context.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal format to groups of all sizes and individuals.
  • Proficient in the usage of computer software; demonstrate an understanding of computer file systems and computer software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ADP, etc.
  • Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines; Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Required or reliable transportation to conduct on-site learning throughout the state.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all operations and activities of the Child and Family Well-being program.
  • Ensures the highest quality program service delivery and the achievement of our strategic goals and performance benchmarks and contracts.
  • Works to develop, coordinate and monitor contract and program outcomes in collaboration with the Director of Quality Improvement and DMCPS.
  • Partners with the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to develop the annual program budget and improve program budgeting and reporting practices while engaging senior program leaders in a deeper understanding of fiscal management.
  • Regularly monitor budgets and cash flow statement; demonstrate fiscal responsibility and efficient use of all Agency resources.
  • Analyzes outcomes and data to improve and modify programs as indicated.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance models for all programs to ensure that expected quality practice, programming and targets are met on a consistent basis.
  • Provide guidance on strategy, priorities, goal setting, professional development, and context to program leaders for how their work connects with and supports the mission of the Agency.
  • Works with program leaders and marketing leaders to create and implement a coordinated marketing and business development plan for Child and Family Well-being programs to achieve strategic program development and growth.
  • Maintains strong relationship with other social service agencies, Federal and state agencies, DMCPS, city, township, county governmental entities, towns, and other community groups and stakeholders.
  • Participates in external committees/groups to influence quality program practice, develop and/or maintain partnerships and keep abreast of legislative changes that may impact our clients or Agency.
  • Provides collaborative leadership in maintaining a positive and productive working relationship among the executive and senior leadership staff, Board of Directors, partner organizations and stakeholders.
  • Meets client needs by developing, supporting and leading program services which address diversity and cultural issues that impact clients.
  • Promotes staff development by initiating and encouraging communication with employees about issues of diversity and discrimination.
  • Supports activities of DEI Leadership Council.
  • Supervises assigned personnel which includes the following responsibilities, but are not limited to hiring, learning, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports.
  • Educates direct reports on all department and company policies and procedures.
  • Meets with assigned staff regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and review work processes and procedures.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks and responsibilities to staff based on individual skill level and workloads.
  • Sets and evaluates clear and collaborative individual performance goals for direct reports.
  • Provides guidance and feedback to supervisory staff in their supervision of direct reports.
  • Recognizes and rewards individual and departmental performance.
  • Represents team(s) and/or department(s) at meetings, events, and learning as needed.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks and responsibilities to staff based on individual skill level and workloads.
