Location: North East


About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of top-tier freight forwarding companies seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development (Air & Ocean) for the North East region, specifically New York. The role involves leading business growth initiatives and expanding market presence.


Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic business development plans for air and ocean freight services.
  • Market Penetration: Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand market share.
  • Client Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Sales Leadership: Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective leadership and strategic initiatives.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals.
  • Negotiation and Contracts: Oversee high-level negotiations and manage key contracts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on business development performance and market trends.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business development or sales within the freight forwarding industry, with a focus on air and ocean freight.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field. MBA is preferred.


Skills:

  • Proven track record of strategic leadership and sales achievement.
  • Strong understanding of air and ocean freight operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic plans.
