Vice President of Advancement

Casa Mañana Theatre Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

REPORTS TO: President & Executive Producer


OBJECTIVE: Design and implement comprehensive institutional advancement programs to significantly increase patron involvement and fundraising outcomes.


HOURS: Full time Exempt. Office Hours: Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Evening and Weekend hours based on theatre schedule and after-hours donor events.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:    

  • Oversee a development team that covers Casa Mañana’s annual fund, corporate and foundation relationships, major gifts and planning, capital campaigns, stewardship and data management.
  • Participate in strategic discussions with the executive producer and the leadership team regarding the financial growth of Casa Mañana.
  • Maintain close, working relationships with the Board of Directors and key donors and prospects.
  • Create and execute fundraising campaigns that advance the mission, vision, and short and long-term goals of Casa Mañana, including plans and budgets for the annual fund, gala, and capital funds. 
  • Maintain a dynamic portfolio of high-net worth individuals and secure major, capital, and planned gifts. 
  • Hire, train and develop a team that regularly meets or exceeds accountable, goal-oriented outcomes.
  • Maintain cooperative, working relationships with other departments including marketing, box office and production, whose cooperation is essential to effective stewardship and fundraising.
  • In tandem with marketing, devise effective internal and external methods of messaging and communication from the development department. 
  • Serve as an exemplary advocate in the community with local leaders, business and corporate partnerships, building relationships between them and Casa Mañana. 
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.


SKILLS: Must have strong work ethic, personal integrity, emotional intelligence, a sense of humor and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals; strong leadership, communication, strategic and planning skills; understanding of ticketing systems; proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; the ability to see the big picture and how all departments fit in the puzzle; finds energy in the hustle and bustle of a performing arts organization.


EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior level advancement position in the performing arts with proven track record of fundraising success and financial growth in an organization. Must present a history of building advancement programs with documented success of numerous major gifts.
