We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Sr. Events Manager for North America Distribution (NAD). The position sits within the Channel and Persona Marketing Team in Marketing. It is a hybrid role located in New York.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Elevate BNY's brand building and client experience initiatives by driving high-impact in-person and virtual events. These events range from industry conference sponsorship, proprietary events, seminars, virtual events, ranging in size and complexity
  • Serve as player coach, managing one event planner and other stakeholders, to manage all pre-planning and onsite logistics for in-person and virtual marketing events and experiences
  • Work closely with senior management and vendors to ensure all events meet company goals and expectations, including diversity of thought leaders and speakers, and focus on client engagement
  • Collaborate with NAD Marketing and NAD teams—from Sales to Product Strategy and Investment firms—to ensure events are aligned with business goals and messaging is consistent with the firm’s narrative
  • Strategically set an Investments Events calendar that supports with marketing and commercial initiatives
  • Manage industry conferences, including collaboration on X-LOB sponsorships, to further promote BNY Investment's capabilities and products
  • Work closely with conference organizers in planning logistics and managing processes to ensure successful and consistent execution
  • Manage all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, venue research, site selection, vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, invitation generation, attendee management, and overall event production
  • Manage the creation of all event invites, registration websites, and conference apps to drive attendance
  • Ensure each event has clear KPIs and manage and communicate post-event analysis and reporting

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Prior experience leading an events function / marketing team
  • Familiar with intermediary and institutional investors to help develop strategic client-focused events that support business goals and result in valued interaction between client and sales
  • Excellent written and spoken verbal communications; ability to lead meetings and garner respect
  • Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with event hosts and stakeholders
  • Curious nature, commitment to continuous improvement, and talent for anticipating needs
  • Strong project management skills and ability to conduct effective meetings
  • Candidate should have expert skills and experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel), HTML, Excel, and Salesforce and proficiency in analytics
  • Proficient in producing virtual events through ON24, Zoom or similar platforms
  • Superb organizational skills and capable of meeting deadlines, completing multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment with daily time constraints
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $90,500 and $130,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
