Vice President, Liquid Credit

Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Vice President for a direct credit investment role with a focus on traded credit.

Job Description

The Vice President will have the unique opportunity to assist Hamilton Lane in developing a traded credit capability within an established private credit platform with dedicated vehicles to support capital deployment. Key responsibilities will include sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring broadly syndicated loans as well as CLO debt and equity. The VP role will be integrated with and supported by the global Hamilton Lane Direct Credit team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead deal teams tasked with performing investment due diligence and credit risk analysis and make investment recommendations to Hamilton Lane’s Credit Investment Committee
  • Work closely with the legal transaction team to review credit documents and negotiate terms
  • Quarterly monitoring of portfolio investments, inclusive of valuation reviews
  • Developing bank and general partner relationships for primary and secondary transaction sourcing
  • Periodically participate in prospect and client-facing activities such as fundraising and investor meetings
  • Assist in developing mid-level and junior investment professionals

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS; Education and/or Experience:

  • Outstanding academic record
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience performing credit risk and investment analysis, preferably at a reputable leverage finance institution or a private credit manager
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating credit agreements
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to private credit investing and demonstrating good investment judgment
  • Strong work ethic, professional demeanor and appearance
  • Willingness to work 50+ hours / week, occasionally on weekends, and travel 10%+ of time
  • A team-oriented approach and an ability to interact productively within a diverse environment
