Vice President, IT Operations and Development

Overview: The Vice President, IT Operations & Development provides leadership and oversight of MCU’s IT operational and development strategies.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage all aspects of IT operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, high system availability, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide leadership and direction to IT operations and development teams, creating a high-performance environment and service-oriented culture.
  • Forecast resource needs, manage expenditures, and maximizing cost-efficiency, while considering the needs of core operations and development teams.
  • Oversee vendor management creating strategic partnerships with key technology providers to ensure maximizing utilization of technology solutions, secure the best possible solutions and pricing.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process optimization, streamlining workflows, maximizing and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay informed on emerging operational and software development technologies and industry best practices, continuously seeking new avenues to improve operational effectiveness and drive innovation.
  • Adhere to development lifecycles and standards including business requirements, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Provide regular reports on IT performance metrics, resource utilization, budget adherence, and the effectiveness of key initiatives to management.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels within the IT department and across other business units, ensuring that IT alignment and collaboration are optimized to support business goals.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental budget.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable company, state, and federal laws, statutes, and regulations, as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computing, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Substantial experience in IT, with successful experience leading and directing major, complex projects. Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading people and activities.
  • Ability to motivate, direct and coach staff.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mastery of Jack Henry systems and third party applications such as Symitar & Microsoft Development platforms.
  • Ability to solve technical and operational problems.
  • Excellent customer service and project management skills.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
