Job Description:

Direct and manage a wide variety of quantitative analyses, including leverage buyout models, discounted cash flow, multiple valuation analysis, merger and acquisition accretion/dilution analysis and credit analysis for client and investor presentations. Develop investment scenarios and corresponding presentation/prospectus material, coordinated marketing for public private securities offerings, valuation analysis, business plans, and financial projections. Leverage the Firm’s capital markets, proprietary research and analytical capabilities to provide top-notch investment, risk advisory, merger & acquisition and capital markets services. Monitor relevant transactions, capital market trends, company financial statements, industry, regulatory, and economic information, and other important assessments in the financial sector. Work directly with Executive Directors and Managing Directors in all facets of business, including marketing, transaction evaluation and transaction processing, as well as oversee and mentor lower-level subordinates consisting of Analysts and Associates. Specific duties include: 1) Perform company and fund-level due diligence, preparing marketing materials (CIMs, Teasers, etc.) and other transaction-related documentation. 2) Responsible for financial analysis and modeling including LBOs (leverage buyouts), continuation fund models, waterfalls. 3) Assist in managing buy-side investor outreach and due diligence (e.g., sponsor team meetings, management team meetings, on-site diligence visits). 4) Contribute to preparing responses to due diligence requests from potential secondary investors. 5) Communicate and collaborate regularly with Moelis’ industry and financial sponsor coverage team members. 6) Maintain databases of secondary market transactions, buy-side investors (profiles, strategies, investment preferences), broader market data to assist with marketing materials. 7) Communicate regularly with buy-side investors (secondary investors, family offices, SWFs, insurance firms, FoFs, asset managers, etc.). 8) Conduct secondary market research including identifying trends in the alternatives investment industries. 9) Conducting ad hoc industry research. 10) Support all origination and project management activities, including marketing to, and due diligence of, prospective mandates, contribution to client selection discussions, drafting offering materials, virtual data rooms, and pitch books for private equity fund mandates. 11) Develop tailored marketing strategies, focused on securing the optimal investor base for a given client. 12) Respond to quantitative and qualitative Limited Partner (LP) inquiries. 13) Perform private equity market research and trend analysis for both internal and external use. 14) Work with the distribution team to develop conversion strategies on an investor-by-investor basis. 15) Interact closely with General Partners (GP) on all GP advisory activities, including fund terms, market positioning, investor materials, due diligence documentation, and overall fundraising strategies. 16) Support new business development by identifying strong GP prospects and developing outreach efforts that will competitively position the firm to win mandates.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field, plus three (3) years of financial management or related analysis experience in the finance or investment banking industry, including experience in performing financial research and analysis; executing capital markets transactions; performing research and valuation analysis; monitoring relevant transactions and market conditions; creating client-specific financial models; and building and maintaining client relationships.

Experience must include (1) year of experience in structuring and executing transactions within M&A; domestic and cross-border M&A; and creating client and pitch presentations including marketing materials.

  • Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1) Knowledge of capital markets (public and private); 2) Knowledge of S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg and FactSet; 3) Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word; 4) Knowledge of

accounting principles and financial statement accounts; and 5) Experience managing or supervising junior level staff or team members

  • Any level of experience or knowledge in the specific skills is acceptable.

Must have Series 7 and 63 licenses.

The salary for this position in New York City is expected to be $250,000 per year. Base pay is based on market location & may vary based on experience, skills, education & other job-related reasons.
