SUMMARY:


The VP, Information Technology is a hands-on, “roll-up-the-sleeves” leader who develops, plans, and implements an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company’s business needs and maintains appropriate and fail-safe security measures related to company data and network access. The position also oversees the implementation and integration of various software applications to ensure high functioning business operations and ensures the IT function is providing efficient and effective technical support across our family of businesses with a focus on delivering a high level of customer service.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Collaborates with members of the business leadership teams to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals and identifies new IT-related developments and technologies that will assist in business optimization.
  • Ensures that the IT and network infrastructure adequately supports the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs.
  • Establishes long-term IT needs and plans and develops strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs.
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information and facilitates IT security audits and investigations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers and ensures vendor relationships are value-added.
  • Maintains pace with technological progress and company needs by directing continual improvements of IT staff, equipment, and procedures and also implements and executes the IT budget.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 10-15 years of directly relevant work experience with increasing levels of responsibility, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing an IT department or a significant function within a large IT department.
  • Must be proficient in the latest technologies for IT systems and IT management and must have a deep understanding of cybersecurity.
  • Must have strong strategic planning skills and must be able to turn strategy into execution.
  • Must have excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills combined with a strong business acumen.
  • Must have the ability to effectively lead initiatives and drive projects to conclusion through strong project management skills.
  • Must possess a high level of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of the following: Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Linux operating systems, Cisco networking, MS SQL Server, Active Directory, DNS, Programming languages such as PHP, C# and Python and Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
