Vice President of Human Resources Role:

The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management

goals.

Strategic Leadership: Work alongside the executive team to offer innovative solutions and insights into critical HR matters, functioning as a trusted advisor and coach to management.

Compliance Management: Manage all aspects of compliance, ensuring adherence to Employee Handbook policies, reporting requirements, and legal notifications. Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations to maintain organizational compliance.

Personnel Consulting: Provide guidance and support on personnel matters, offering coaching and conducting investigations as necessary.

Professional Development: Facilitate professional development initiatives, training programs, and certifications for HR staff to enhance their skills and effectiveness.

Retention and Productivity: Identify strategies to improve staff retention, productivity, and engagement, fostering a unified organizational culture through effective leadership and development programs.

Compensation and Benefits: Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs to attract and retain top talent.

Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to the HR management team, assisting with resolving HR-related questions, concerns, and issues.

Budget Management: Draft and implement staffing and departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through participation in professional development and networking events.

HIPAA Compliance: Ensure compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations while performing all duties.

Recruitment and Training: Oversee the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of management-level HR staff.

Workflow Management: Supervise the daily workflow of the HR department, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Performance Management: Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations, as well as handle discipline and termination procedures in accordance with company policies.


Vice President of Human Resources Background Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Minimum of ten years of experience in human resource management, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in strategic talent management and/or business development.

Strongly preferred certifications include SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or HRCI certification.

Experience in a family-owned business environment is advantageous.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability in conflict resolution are required.

Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are necessary.

Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving is crucial.

Strong supervisory and leadership abilities are essential.

Ability to adapt and transition between different but related business lines and workforces is important.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is essential.

Experience with various human resource information systems is preferred, with knowledge of Paylocity being a plus.
