Overview

We are looking for a Vice President to join the rapidly growing Debt Team at Bellwether. The ideal candidate understands the importance of engaging and empowering a team of highly talented technical and professional analysts and associates. They are also a savvy problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and consistently exceeds expectations. We are seeking an agile team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with different parts of the organization. An ideal candidate will have held similar positions in the asset management of commercial real estate state across all asset classes. Successful candidates for this position will have had at least three to five years of relevant professional experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively lead the monitoring and management of a portfolio of debt investments across all property types (office, industrial, hotel, retail, and residential), corporate debt and various securitized products;
  • Manage, mentor, and develop team members;
  • Review and analyze business plans, leasing activity, lease approvals, draws and monthly property operating performance;
  • Liaison with borrowers to review business plan execution and ensure debt covenants are met;
  • Direct associates and analysts in the development of reporting materials to monitor the performance of investments at the asset level;
  • Participate in the underwriting process by evaluating investment strengths and weaknesses through the development of financial metrics, models and sensitivities;
  • Communicate directly with clients and be the lead relationship manager
  • Identify an appropriate capital structure based upon its business plan and key risks through analysis and communication;
  • Perform credit analysis of potential sponsors;
  • Prepare a comprehensive investment submission and communicate conclusions and investment risk in a narrative presentation to Senior Management, including approval through participation in investment committee.

Qualifications

  • Asset management experience, including development and analysis of real estate-based financial models;
  • Strong leadership abilities and effective management skills;
  • A bachelor's degree (required);
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ARGUS Enterprise;
  • Experience with property underwriting and advanced financial modeling;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Attention to detail with superior organizational skills;
  • Proven ability to multitask and quickly understand new concepts; and
  • Desire to work as part of a small, highly entrepreneurial team.

$135,000 - $145,000 a year

$135,000 - $145,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus. Offered salary is based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
